“Yet I am among you as the One who serves.” With this insightful declaration, Jesus makes known the Kingdom’s career ladder: humble service. It’s the understanding that “to whom much is given;” and to Him all power was given, “much is required.” Christ does not condemn the desire for greatness, rather, He points us toward the God-approved way to achieve it.
He said: “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” The heart for Kingdom service is born in humility and made mature in the knowledge of Christ. When an opportunity to serve comes to you, see it as an invitation to be in God’s presence to minister to Him as He clearly instructs us in Matthew 25. In this way, you will walk in the spirit and be delighted to serve God through His creation. And make no distinction in your service. Whether the Shepherds in whom God has instilled the vision for the church, the visitor, or the new or seasoned member--all are worthy.

Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
The first step to better positioning is a step into your prayer closet or wherever you diligently seek the Lord’s will. His will is not stagnant but is one of fluid direction. He told Abrahm to “get up and go” and, in response to this command, Abrahm put his feet in motion. But he checked in with the Lord to be sure he took the ordained path to the mountain. Likewise, the ministry you serve is not meant to be stagnant. In its growth, wheat who wish to co-labor in the Lord’s vineyard should sprout and tares who have another course of action in mind may appear. Your diligent prayer will keep you strategically ahead of the enemy’s plan to divide and derail the ministry’s spiritual growth. As you walk with the Spirit in prayer, He will give you words to say. Habakkuk 2:2 tells us to write the vision; in other words, a way of sharing the good works of the blessed hands pouring into the ministry you lead. This is the art of promotion and should never be neglected.
